Originally built by the townspeople of Wakefield in the mid 14th century as an integral part of Wakefield's new stone bridge. However, what you see today is largely a 19th Century rebuild by Sir Giles Gilbert Scott. Nowadays, the Chantry Chapel is often open for exhibitions, talks, and other events - including occasional concerts and recitals - as well as for regular services.
