'The Erato Orchestra ... was founded in the early 1960's and has been based at St. Mark's Church Purley since 2004. Concerts contain engaging classical symphonies, concertos and often arrangements of well known pieces. Many of the players are local music teachers who wish to encourage a love of music in the local community ... The Erato Concert Society, formed in 1978, is a registered charity which promotes three concerts each year by the Erato Orchestra. Playing members donate their services and subscribing members enjoy substantial concessions on admission prices, free entry to rehearsals, advance mailing. We welcome new members as the Society plays a key rôle in the life of the Orchestra.'
