‘Anyone who has ever sung in a choir will know the pleasure it brings and Sterndale is no exception. We are an auditioned chamber choir of around 36 singers, and perform concerts in a variety of venues in and around Sheffield. Our repertoire ranges from unaccompanied renaissance polyphony to contemporary works, and from time to time we work with local instrumental ensembles ... William Sterndale Bennett was born on 13th April 1816 in Sheffield and died on 1st February 1875 in London.’
