+ Thames Voyces
Listing Details
Founded 1967: ‘Our objectives are recorded as "the study and practice of choral music in order to foster the public knowledge and appreciation of such music by means of public performance". A more poetic view comes from Ben Jonson, which is to cultivate "the voyce so sweet, the words so fair, as some soft chime had stroked the air", and gave rise to the change of name to Thames Voyces in 1974 ... We pursue a love of singing through a wide repertoire of works from early music through to the present day, whilst aspiring to reach the highest possible standards. We perform around four concerts each year, in venues based around Bracknell and Crowthorne’.
