The Cathedral is an active, living Church with a community of Christians who seek to make worship a priority for life and to reach out in service to the wider community ... The music at Ripon Cathedral costs £250,000 each year [2018] and this will continue to increase. The costs include the salaries of the Director of Music, the Assistant Director of Music, an Organ Scholar, 6 Lay Clerks, 48 Boy and Girl Choristers, music tuition, singing lessons, choir robes, and sheet music. The Ripon Cathedral Music Trust was set up to raise £5 million to help sustain the Music at Ripon Cathedral ...’
