'Originally formed in 1877 ... the band re-formed in 1967 ... The Flixton Band is currently a subscription band, and does not have the luxury of any sponsorship. The band is supported entirely through members’ weekly subscriptions, engagement fees and prize money. Potential sponsors of the band are always welcome! ... The band performs throughout the year, and is noted for the diversity of its engagements. These include: concerts, corporate events, joint concerts with other bands, choirs and choral societies, summer bandstand concerts, local and civic processions, sporting events and garden fetes. We can perform as a full band (25 brass plus percussion), small group (typically 10 brass) or quartet.'
