‘Originally established way back in 1889 ... near Loxley, North Sheffield, South Yorkshire, the band continues to have a strong following to this day ... Loxley Silver Band always welcomes any brass band instrument players to come along and join us. Those who have just started to learn, or wanting to “re-start”, may like to consider joining our Training Band or “mature” brass instrument players may wish to join our Veterans band who take a more leisurely approach to brass banding ... We generally have a flexible approach to membership, with several players in the band happy to move seats if the right players wish to join. We also welcome students temporarily living in Sheffield while they complete their studies at either of Sheffield’s excellent universities.’
