It now takes place over the last two weekends of June each year ... Set in the heart of the Garden of England, the festival takes its name from the River Stour, which runs along the valley between Ashford and Canterbury.'

'Formed in 2002 under the name Windmill, as part of a drive to encourage adults who maybe hadn't played for a few years to return to their brass or woodwind instruments. We have gone from strength to strength and now have approx 30 members. We have renamed ourselves Ashford Concert Band and we meet every week to rehearse and have a great repertoire of music we play. Today we continue to learn and enjoy making music together and always welcome new players over the age of 18 to come and join us.'
