‘Formerly the Parish Church of St. John The Baptist. The church was built by subscription in 1839-40 in memory of Charles S. Miller, a former vicar ...  The Church became redundant in 1979 and in the following year a suggestion was made by the Harlow Chorus that the building would make a good base. At the time Old Harlow did not have a community centre, the Diocese therefore granted a lease with covenants to restrict its use to serving the social and recreational needs of the area ... We offer a varied programme of activities and events for all ages which include concerts, exhibitions and workshops.’
